Internet speak
BTS
BTS, short for behind the scenes, is content that shows how something was made: the studio session, the shoot, the rehearsal, the mess before the finished post.
Also called: behind the scenes, behind-the-scenes content, BTS video
Isn't BTS a band?
It is, and K-pop fans will read it that way. In creator speak, though, "BTS" in a caption almost always means behind the scenes. Context usually makes it clear.
Why does BTS content work?
It feels unpolished and personal, which makes people feel let in. Fans who have seen a song being written or a video being shot care more when the finished thing comes out.
What counts as BTS?
Phone clips from a recording session, a bloopers reel, the moodboard for a cover, setting up a stage, or a quick voice note about why a lyric changed. It rarely needs editing.
Example
A Bengaluru indie band posts a 20-second clip of the drummer recording the same fill twelve times, captioned "BTS from the new single", two weeks before release.
