Aulto × Meta

WhatsApp and Instagram with Aulto

Aulto runs the tools. Meta runs WhatsApp and Instagram. Here is who does what, what to have ready, and where the costs sit, so you can set it up once and know what to expect.

Before you start

Three parties are involved. Each has its own job.

Aulto

The software

Reply Drop, WhatsApp flows and broadcasts, ready-made templates, your fan list, scheduling and reporting. This is what your Aulto plan covers.

Meta

The platforms

Meta owns WhatsApp and Instagram. It sets their rules and sending limits, reviews every WhatsApp template, and bills WhatsApp messages directly to you.

You

The groundwork

Your own accounts and number, your fans' permission to hear from you, and a payment method with Meta for WhatsApp. Connecting takes about 5 minutes. Meta's review of templates takes longer.

The honest version: Aulto does the heavy lifting, but a few things only you can provide. Do the groundwork below once and everything else is automatic.

WhatsApp

Message the fans who asked to hear from you: release announcements, reminders and follow-ups, sent from your own number.

What Meta charges

Meta charges for each WhatsApp message it delivers. The price depends on the type of message (marketing, utility or authentication) and the country you send to. It is billed to your own account with Meta, not through Aulto.

Meta changes its rates on the first day of a quarter, so always read the current ones at the source: Meta's WhatsApp pricing.

What to have ready

  • A phone number that isn't already on WhatsApp. It must not be on the WhatsApp app or WhatsApp Business app, and it must be able to receive a verification code.
  • A Facebook login. You use it to pick or create the Meta business your number belongs to.
  • A name fans will recognise. Meta approves the display name your messages show.
  • A payment method with Meta. It is added in Meta Business Suite, and it is how Meta bills your messages.
  • Your fans' permission. Only message people who opted in and know it is you. Aulto's forms ask for it. Read Meta's opt-in rules.

Connect in five steps

  1. Open Marketing, then WhatsApp in your Aulto dashboard and choose Connect.
  2. Log in with Facebook and pick or create your business.
  3. Set your display name and verify your number.
  4. Choose Sync templates. Aulto sends its ready-made templates to Meta for you.
  5. Wait for Meta's approval. Each template shows as in review, then approved. Approved templates are ready to send.

How many people you can message

Meta limits how many different people a number can start conversations with in a day. It grows as you send messages people welcome.

250people per day for a new number
2,000after Meta verifies your business, or after good-quality sends to 2,000 people in 30 days

What Aulto handles for you

  • Ready-made templates for announcements, reminders, release day and follow-ups.
  • A release flow that sends four messages around each release, with quiet hours from 9pm to 8am IST.
  • Fans who reply STOP are left out of every future send.
  • Delivery and read tracking for every send.

Protect your number

If people block or report your messages, Meta lowers your number's quality rating and can cut your limit. Send only to people who asked, keep messages relevant, and give them an easy way out. How quality ratings work.

Instagram

Turn a comment into a conversation. A fan comments a keyword, and Aulto replies and sends them your link in a DM.

What to have ready

  • An Instagram professional account. A Business or Creator account. You can switch in Instagram's settings.
  • Your approval. You log in with Instagram and allow Aulto to read your profile and manage comments and messages. You can disconnect any time.
  • A post that names the keyword. Say it plainly in the caption, for example: comment “planner”.

How Reply Drop works

  1. Connect Instagram in Aulto and create a Reply Drop for your post with your keyword and your link.
  2. A fan comments the keyword. Aulto replies under their comment.
  3. Aulto sends the DM with your link. You can send it straight away, or ask first and send it when they tap.

Meta's rules, so nothing surprises you

One DM per commenterMeta allows one private reply for each person who comments.
Within 7 daysThe DM must go out within 7 days of the comment.
Inbox or RequestsIf they follow you it lands in their Inbox. If not, in Message Requests.
Follow-ups need a replyFurther messages are allowed only after they respond, and within 24 hours of it.

Read it at the source: Meta's private replies guide.

Before you post

  • Comment the keyword from a second account to see exactly what a fan gets.
  • Keep the keyword short and easy to type.
  • Put your link and the reason to click in the DM, not only in the reply.
