Snippet

A snippet is a short clip of an unreleased song shared to build interest before release, usually 10 to 30 seconds of the catchiest part.

Also called: song snippet, teaser, preview clip

Why post snippets?

They let you test which part of a song people react to, and give fans something to talk about while the release is still weeks away.

How do you turn a snippet into release-day listeners?

Pair it with a way to act: a pre-save link, a keyword to comment, or a sign-up. A snippet that goes viral without a next step is attention you can't reach again.

Example

An artist posts the chorus as a reel with "comment SONG and we'll send it to you on release day".

Doing it with Aulto

Aulto pre-save pages can offer an exclusive preview: fans verify their email to hear a short snippet of the upcoming track.

  • Pre-save

A pre-save lets a fan sign up for a song or album before it comes out, so it reaches them the moment it is released.

  • Hook

A hook is the part of a song, or the first seconds of a video, built to grab attention and make people stay.

  • Drop

A drop is a release that goes out at a set moment, like a new song, a merch line or a product, announced ahead so people show up at once.

  • Cover art

Cover art is the square image that represents a release on every streaming service, store and smart link page.

  • Master recording

The master recording is the final, released version of a recorded song, and whoever owns it owns the rights to that specific recording.

  • Metadata

Metadata is the information attached to a release: title, artist names, credits, language, genre, release date and codes like the ISRC and UPC.
