Glossary / Tracking

Industry terms

Conversion rate

Conversion rate is the share of people who did the thing you wanted, like pre-saving, signing up or buying, out of everyone who reached the page.

Also called: conversions, CVR

How is it different from CTR?

CTR measures the click; conversion rate measures what happens after it. A page can get plenty of clicks and still convert badly.

How do you improve it?

Ask for one thing, make it obvious, keep the page fast on a phone, and remove steps. Every extra field or tap loses people.

Example

A pre-save page gets 800 visits and 200 sign-ups: a 25% conversion rate.

Doing it with Aulto

Aulto shows clicks and sign-ups by source for your pages, so you can see which posts bring people who actually convert.
