Tap to send

Tap to send is a Reply Drop mode where the first DM is a short message with a button, and the link is sent when the person taps it.

Why add a tap?

Instagram treats messages to people who don't follow you more carefully. Opening with a short message and a button, and sending the link once they tap, suits people who found your post but don't follow you yet.

When should you use it?

On posts likely to reach beyond your followers: reels, collab posts and anything that's travelling through shares.

Example

A non-follower comments RECIPE on a viral reel, gets "Here's your recipe, tap below", taps, and receives the link.
