Industry terms

Smart link

A smart link is one web address for a release that sends each listener to the streaming app they already use.

Also called: music link, song link, landing page for music

Your audience is split across apps. In India alone, people listen on Spotify, JioSaavn, YouTube Music, Apple Music, Amazon Music and more. One app's link loses everyone who uses another.

Usually the artwork, the title and a button for each streaming service. Good ones also tell you which services people chose and where they came from.

Where should you put it?

Everywhere you talk about the release: your link in bio, stories, YouTube descriptions, WhatsApp messages and email.

Example

An artist shares one aul.to link in a YouTube Short's description. Fans on Spotify and fans on JioSaavn both land on the song in their own app.

Doing it with Aulto

Aulto finds a release on the streaming services and builds the smart link page for you, with click counts by service and by where people came from.

Common questions

Is a smart link the same as a link in bio?

No. A smart link is for one release; a link in bio page collects all your links in one place.
