Add Yours sticker

The Add Yours sticker is an Instagram sticker that sets a prompt, like "show your first concert ticket", which other people answer with their own story or reel.

Also called: Add Yours, Add Yours prompt, Add Yours template

How does an Add Yours chain spread?

Each answer carries the same prompt, so everyone who sees a reply can add their own, and the chain moves from one audience to the next. The best prompts are easy to answer in seconds with something people already have on their phone.

How can creators use it on reels?

Instagram lets a creator or artist invite followers to take part in a prompt or challenge with the sticker on a reel, then pick the entries they like best. People whose reel is chosen are notified, which gives fans a reason to join in.

What makes a good prompt for an artist?

Something tied to the music but about the fan: the song they played on a road trip, where they were when they first heard you, or a photo of their city at the hour the track feels like.

Example

A Tamil rapper posts a reel with the prompt "show the street you grew up on" before his album; hundreds of fans answer, and he picks his favourites for a story.

  • UGC

UGC (user-generated content) is content made by customers or fans rather than the brand or artist, like reviews, unboxings or reels using a song.

  • Reel

A reel is a short vertical video on Instagram, up to 3 minutes long, and the format Instagram shows most to people who don't follow you.

  • Alt text

Alt text is a short written description of an image that screen readers read aloud, so people who can't see the picture know what it shows.

  • Auto-reply

An auto-reply is a message sent automatically in response to a DM, comment or keyword, so people get an answer without waiting for someone to type it.

  • Broadcast channel

A broadcast channel is a one-to-many chat on Instagram where a creator posts updates to everyone who joins, and members can react and vote but not reply.

  • Carousel post

A carousel post is an Instagram post with several photos or videos that people swipe through, up to 20 in one post.
